Academy of Management, MED Div. (Mgmt Educ. & Dev.) Related to Chicago conference August 1999 --------------- Note by EZ: The Award mentioned was the second only attempt to evaluate the requested (described below), first 1998, second 1999. Using the creative morphological appproach it resulted in winning this award. A small, but nevertheless valid proof that M. works in "any new field" of application. The score was one of 13 in 130 contestants. --------------- Here is the tentative information, unabridged: 1999.7.23. Email: Dear Emil, I am writing to congratulate you on achieving the Academy of Management's Management Education and Development (MED) Division Outstanding Reviewer Award this year. It is a pleasure to report that, once again, you and the other members of the MED Program Review Committee provided the very high level of support to submitters we have come to be proud of in MED. Virtually all submitters received extensive and valuable feedback on their paper submissions and symposium proposals. Although MED has good reason to be proud of the fine job all reviewers did, a few are singled out — through this award — for doing an outstanding job. You deserve to feel honored for having been selected for this award. It recognizes the excellent contribution you made to the people whose submissions you reviewed and gave feedback on, and the very key role you played in putting this year's program together. On behalf of all of MED, thank you for your outstanding job. As an Outstanding Reviewer, you will receive a handsome plaque acknowledging your contribution. If memory serves me well (and it does not always do so), you will not be attending the Annual Meeting of the Academy in Chicago this year. If you are, we would like to present the Award to you at the MED Business Meeting on Tuesday, August 10, in the Swissotel, Alpine II Room. If you cannot attend, we will be delighted to mail it to you or workout another pick-up arrangement. We shall appreciate it if you could assist us in four ways to make sure you receive your award promptly (and that it is correctly produced for you): 1. We are planning to list your name as: Emil Zahner Is that correct? 2. Will you be able to attend the Business Meeting to receive the Award in person? If not, could you please provide below the best mailing address for you (or could you suggest another pick-up arrangement)? 3. We plan to send a nicer looking congratulatory letter to you by snail mail. Please indicate below how you would like us to address that letter (if you have given us an appropriate address above - simply say "same address" here). 4. Finally, we would like to send a letter to your dean or some other appropriate person acknowledging your special contribution to MED as an Outstanding Reviewer. If you are willing to allow us to send such a letter, would you please provide the name and mailing address of the best person to send it to. (That letter will also go out by snail-mail). Again, thank you for your outstanding contribution this year and congratulations on your well- earned award. Warm regards, Jim Stoner MED Program Chair --
